Canmore Rotary Club Charitable Foundation
The Canmore Rotary Club Charitable Foundation was established in order that persons wishing to donate to the Foundation can receive a tax-deductible receipt for qualified projects. Since receiving charitable status from the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, a charitable tax receipt is issued for all cash donations of $20.00 and more.
The Foundation has received several thousands of dollars over the past three years. These donations have been allocated to two major community projects which are described below. In addition to community projects, the Foundation can undertake international projects. If you would like more information or wish to make a donation, please contact us.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS
- Canmore Hospital Seniors Exercise Center - Completed in September, 2002
Our first community project was the development of a facility at the Canmore Hospital for seniors and various medical rehabilitation groups. The Canmore Rotary Club Charitable Foundation raised approximately $19,000.00 to equip the exercise facility which is available to seniors free of charge. The most common cause of illness-related disability seniors experience is cardiovascular disease. Seniors are more likely to need exercise rehabilitation than younger persons. Active and fit people are likely to live longer, healthier lives. This facility contributes to seniors living longer and more independently.
- Seniors Housing in Canmore - Completed in April, 2004
In co-operation with Bow Valley Regional Housing, the Canmore Rotary Club Charitable Foundation raised $50,000.00 which was contributed to the construction of 15 assisted living units adjacent to the Bow River Seniors Lodge in Canmore. These units, opened in February, 2004 are fully occupied. They provide an opportunity for seniors to live independently while receiving some support. This facility addresses a pressing need for both assisted living units and for units large enough to allow senior couples to remain living together.
